Why is everyone suddenly in love with their HMO?
Before November I hаd never heard a single positive statement аbουt Insurance companies especially іn relation tο HMO’s. Now, thаt President Obama іѕ trying tο change thе horrible way thеу dο business, Republicans аrе aggressively loyal tο thеѕе people, I wonder whу?
Most of those people have shared their displeasure with HMOs…if they are still alive after being denied medical care. The movie Sicko was very interesting. These HMOs employed Doctors to write refusal letters. The more they wrote…the more money they made. One Doctor testified to Congress on this egregious behavior by the health care for profit HMOs.
If you look at the people posting the negative information on health care, spreading the misinformation, most are new to Y/A. The media has reported that the health care for profit industry is spending more on a campaign to stop reform than Bush and Kerry spent in the 2004 election. We now know that the people who stopped the Florida election recount in 2000 were GOP staffers. I’m wondering if these people are part of the campaign to stop reform?
As to the republicans, if you remember in the ’90s when Hillary Clinton proposed the American people be part of the same insurance plan as Congress, the Bob Dole stood on the steps of the Capitol saying the American people did not deserve to have the same health care as Congress. I think that same sentiment is shared by the republicans today. Obama is proposing the American people be part of the "Insurance Exchange" which is basically a list of insurers by state with different degrees of coverage. Some say it is because the health care for profit industry supports republicans and a lot of the Blue Dog Democrats at campaign time.
Because what Obama is proposing is a LOT worse than an HMO. Republicans understand that our healthcare system needs work, we just don’t think Obama’s solution is the correct solution.
I was always positive about my insurance, you have obviosly never heard me speak.
I feel relaxed at knowing that for 150 dollars a month blue cross and blue sheild will cover me incase god forbid i get cancer or get hit by a car.
I’m not saying that there is not room for improvement regarding insurance, but for a healthcare "overhaul"?
Follow the money, that’s all you need to do. Who pays, see who gets paid. See who is working for the status quo, where is the money coming from to keep the demonstrations and blogs alive.
Wow, the Republicans need to remember this Abraham Lincoln quote: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time." Of course all they care about is election time.
I never had a HMO, I always pay for my own health care and that of my family.
There basically there are 3 reasons. 1) The Insurance Companies are paying the Republicans very well to fight it. 2) The Republicans are so against anything the Democrats put for ward that they would create a disaster just to make the Democrats look bad. 3) The Republicans would rather make the USA FAIL than allow Obama to succeed in ANYTHING.
Wait until single payer comes along. When HMOs and PPOs are out of business and every other form of insurance goes up. What do I know about it though. I’ve been licensed to sell Life & Annuities, Accident & Health, and Property & Casualty insurance in 46 states. I don’t know how insurance works.
If I hired you at $8 p/h and 75% of your health care you would most likely complain about the low wages, and % of health care. If I later came along and said, I need you to work for $8 p/h and pay more into your health care or we go out of business, you would probably like the $8 p/h and health care plan you had a lot better. That is what you are seeing right now. People like the plan they have, compared to the plan(s) being bantered about in Washington D. C. If the Democrats are serious about this plan(s) then make them the first in line to get it, along with the Pres and Supreme Court (for that matter all federal employees). Then the Pres would be honest and Americans would not be as nervous as they are. Don’t do this and the bill(s) have little chance of garnering public support.
Likely because they have actually read what obama care entails…
I am not loyal to my HMO, I am Loyal to my Country… care to join us?
Private insurers, including HMOs, follow the provisions of their contracts with their insureds. We won’t get that from a government-controlled system. Bureaucrats will not be bound by contracts.
Because shilling for companies that would let you die/rot is a Republican thing! Look at Coal or Oil or FreeTrade, think of it this way if the companies leading the industry need gullible people they can talk into anything they just buy the right-wing scream machine on hate AM/FNC and like magic we are here dealing with chuckle heads that are so misinformed it is pathetic.
Yes Republicans/Libertarians I am talking about you!!!!!!
Why are so many suddenly in love with their Country, could it be a President that isn’t?
Because the neocons do what they do best use fear. Many Americans know we need to change our health care systems but letting the neocons right wing propaganda get in their heads. What’s the neocons solution to health care? Nothing. The same status quo. Do nothing but try to make President Obama fail. <3
obviously it is better than ransacking their present care
Or maybe it’s because Mr. Obama was (and still is) trying to make the health care problem out to be worse than it really is… It just so happens there aren’t really millions of Americans walking around hating their health care system. And now that what they have is under threat of being nationalized, they are letting themselves be heard.
