Why did my medical bills go to collections and my husbands did not?
Wе don’t hаνе insurance. Hе′s bееn tο urgent care аnd thе e.r. tons οf times, аnd hіѕ medical bills hаνе never gone іntο collections whеn thеу wеnt unpaid. Bυt I gο 3 times іn thе last 8 years аnd аll οf mine gοt sent іntο collections. It doesn’t mаkе sense tο mе, even though wе hаνе gone tο thе same hospitals.
it all falls back to billing — also if they look and think they have a chance of collecting they will devote time/effort to the mission but if they look and see not chance of collecting they will just charge it off!!!
You both should pay your bills! Our economy is ruined because of deadbeats like you and your husband. Grow up and take responsibility for your actions. I hope you do not have any children to teach this lack of respect to Society.
I got a chuckle out of Cowgirl’s little self righteous diatribe. If she thinks people not being able to pay their medical and credit card bills is the cause for the slump in the economy, I suggest she take a remedial economics course.
Anyways, as for why this happened, it would be really hard to say. Did Medicare or another program possibly pick up some of the bill for your husband? That’s one thing to consider.
It depends on a lot of factors, like how the hospital does their billing and what doctor you saw. At my local hospital some of the doctors work for the hospital and some of the doctors work for a physicians group. It’s confusing.
I have been to the er several times in the past years because of illness and each and everytime since I didn’t have insruance they send me a note to fill out that contains different things such as household income, what I own stuff like that and if I cannot pay then they write it off and pay it for me the next month I get a letter notifying they paid it and thank you for using their hospital. MAYBE he got that? not sure though if you all are going to the same hospital looks as if they would treat you the same way…not sure.. maybe call up collections there and talk to them about it! I am sorry this stuff sucks I hate the American way of "taking care" of their citizens when it comes to healthcare, but THANK GOD I have always found a way!
