where can i find really good dental insurance?
I аm a mom οf two аnd expecting. I саn’t work аnd I аm looking fοr dental insurance thаt pays alot(аlmοѕt everything). I live іn Texas.

If you qualify for Medicaid, dental should be covered.
I work in as an Office Manager In a Dental office.
The best Is ..Kaiser Dental (not the Hmo)..Im not sure if you need ther medical to get dental, but they pay alot for a private insurance company.There are no waiting periods and very cheap. If you do look for insurance other than this one..just make sure you dont get one with a a lot of waiting periods, most like Blue cross/blueshiled or pacificare have 1 year to 6 month waithing periods on procedures such as fillings, crowns, rct..etc..only cleanings are covered..and the discount plans are not all the great..only ameriplan..never aflac..I hope this helps…but kaiser delta dental is the best!!!
To the lady who does not agree with me..I have worked in a dental office and see all sorts of insurance companies…the best individual plan as my opinion is delta with kaiser..she asked Where can i find really good insurance..that pays almost everything..that would be my answer….If you have an option with an employer then there are many really good ones not just delta..but as a single mom myself I did have to pay for dental out of pocket awhile ago and I needed a plan that paid almost everything with no waiting periods..this was not offered by an employer..i did a lot of reasearch and delta with kaiser had no waiting periods…they paid very high..and alot was covered. The other "individual Insurances" had a year waiting period..prior extractions not covered..composite fillings were downgraded to amalgam..the ded. was 100.00..it was crazy the only thing covered was cleanings for the first year. Ameriplan is alot cheaper than aflac and it is not an insurance plan just a discount plan..the doctor has to charge the fees of ameriplans allowance…
this is all just my opinion..I work with all insurance companies and think they are all great..but when it comes down to purchising private insurance without an employer Kaiser Delta is great..If you dont think so..just call pacificare, bluecross, and kaiser delta dental and ask there coverage and breakdown.
and most individual plans are not based on ucr fees, only an allowance , so you end up paying so much more..& yes, i have seen ameriplan and many other insurance plans on rip off report..but other people really like them..if you dont then dont get that plan its all really simple!!
Call a Dentist Office and see what comes thru their office the most and ask who they would recommend.
Most of the time, the only way to get really good dental coverage is through your employer. When you buy dental insurance as an individual, there are deductibles and co-pays and annual maximums that you need to analyze in order to figure out when and if you will actually save money by having insurance coverage. Some of the premiums I have seen make it almost impossible to realize any positive cash flow from the related policy. I mean, at $60 a month with $100 deductible and $1,000 annual maximum, you will have to take $820 out of your own pocket before you realize one penny of "profit" or net gain from your dental insurance.
Then you have to calculate the effect of co-payements. Check the figures and do the math yourself.
Be cautious about buying or choosing a plan where you do not have any choice about the dentist you can see, because you just might not like the dentist(s) listed on the plan and then you are stuck for a year until you can get out of it.
Be cautious about buying a so-called "dental discount plan," often mentioned on Yahoo!, since they also have restrictive lists and they really are not dental insurance at all. Just be careful and understand what you are buying.
For many people who just can’t get good dental insurance, a regular savings plan sort of like a Christmas Club with $20-25 a month deposited into a dedicated account will pay off when you examine the return over a lifetime. You may run way over your savings at first, but once you get your mouth straightened out, your annual expenses should not be more than a couple hundred dollars most of the time.
For major treatment, dental insurance is no great deal anyhow. They limit you to $1,000-1,500 per year, subject you to deductibles, co-pays, etc. Imagine if you were in a car accident and your carrier said, "Yep, it’s a total loss. Here’s a check for $1,500. Good luck coming up with enough money to buy a new car." Dental "insurance" should usually be considered a payment arrangement where you give your dollars to a large company who holds onto them until you say the secret word and manage to get a few of them back.

I disagree strongly with "bossy". As a dental office manager for many years, I would never recommend one dental plan as the "best". There are so many factors to look at and literally thousands of plans available, no one could select one plan as the best.
Dr. Sam’s advice is good – if you can’t get a plan through your employer, self-insure by way of a savings plan.
Dental discount plans, such as Ameriplan, are unregulated and many complaints have been registered with such sites as Rip-Off.com. They are basically a multi-level marketing plan which makes money for brokers, but does not offer a good value to consumers.
