I have 2 sons and with my first one we took him around 3 yrs old and he ended up having to get 3 fillings on his molars, even though we took very good care of them and he ate absolutely no candy. Our second son we took him around the age of 2 and he did fine, with no cavities. Our dentist said that as long as you are really cleaning them good, 2 years old is the average age. Then they aren’t so resistant to the cleaning. As for baby teeth being just baby teeth, yes one day they will fall out, our dentist also said that when parents don’t take their kids to get their baby teeth checked, and if they get a cavity and it ends up rooting the tooth, it will cause damage to the gum and the permanent tooth will not come in correctly and something may be wrong with it. I think that if you think she would do alright in the dentist chair, go ahead and take her. Its better to be safe than sorry.
Well i was told by my ped that at one is when they should go to their first dentist appt if they are teething and have teeth.. but most should be seen by 2 years… so if you want you can always call your dentist and ask when they start seeing toddlers.. goodluck
i think now is the right time to do this. it is important that you start them out now so they get used to going to the dentist. not only this but it is important that you know if everything is going alright as far as her teeth coming in. remember, a person only has one set of teeth in their life. it is important to stress to a child the importance of good oral hygeine. hope this helps. good luck.
as soon as she has teeth… I started at 3
Between two and three
I would take her now. I took mine as soon as she got two teeth because to me they looked funny. Good thing I did. Then I took her when she got a full mouth at about 15-16 months to make sure they were okay and coming in good. It is not going to hurt if you take her now.
2 years old,but if she already has a mouthful of teeth taking her now would be good.
You can start taking them at 1 just find a children’s dentist where they are very friendly and work well with kids because one they experience something bad they remember that.
whenever she will let you!
3 yrs old
The new recommendations are for at 1 year old and then once a year.
Why so young?
Because we expose our children to bacteria by sharing food, spoons, cleaning a binki that fell onto the floor with our mouths.
3 yrs old and that is also the age for their 1st eye exam.
you need to take her now. because the milk can cause tooth decay and you wont to her healthy teeth.
The American Dental Association recommends that parents take their child to a dentist around his or her first birthday.
But if you see any signs of problems like discoloration on the back of her teeth, you should take her in immediately.
Look for a pediatric dentist.
She has her baby teeth it is not near time yet to take the baby to any dentist, you will be only wasting money, just try to keep the baby little teeth clean as much as possible until she is ready.
most "studies" say around that age or 2years. I took my daughter at 3 years. She is now 5 1/2 and has had a perfect checkup everytime. She did really good too at 3. Considering I am a big baby when it comes to the dentist.
