Blah, sounds like it’s fractured or some other problem making it fall apart?
If it’s fractured all the way to the root, or close, they may have to remove it. Being a back tooth that isn’t too big of a deal since it wont show.
If the roots and whatnot are just fine, then yeah probably able to do a crown.
I do have one with a fracture headed toward the root that they still secured and did a root canal/crown on though, so it really depends on what is expected of it in the future and if it’s worth saving like that.

It depends. If the tooth isn’t broken to the gum, sometimes they can fill the cavity and cap the tooth. If the cavity is very deep, it might be a root canal plus a crown.
get off the meth is what he is going to tell you, that’s how meth heads teeth fall apart, if you don’t then you have a parathyroid problem . that is the only to reasons teeth fall apart like that without someone already complaining of pain from the tooth prior to it breaking. He will just pull it out if its that bad that it just chips off, because it is rotting from the inside out, that’s why you aren’t complaining about the pain the root is already dead. My ex sister in law did the same thing tooth after tooth after tooth, she never learned.
It is hard to tell but the treatment will depend on the amount of the tooth part lost (to see if u need a crown or no).and the root canal treatment is done only if the tooth pulp is touched and to know that u should see ur dentist he will see the tooth damage and test for the status of the pulp.good luck .
