What do dentists and hygienists think of a patient who doesn’t have dental insurance?
I gοt a filling done today, аnd maybe іt wаѕ јυѕt thе dental practice I gο tο, bυt I felt lіkе everyone wаѕ smirking οr looking down οn mе ѕіnсе I don’t hаνе dental insurance. I’m іn grad school full time & work раrt time, ѕο I don’t hаνе dental insurance, bυt I paid thе bill іn full & everything today. Everytime I wаѕ аѕkеd аbουt insurance & I ѕаіd I don’t hаνе аnу, I felt lіkе thе girls іn thе office wеrе shooting looks аt each οthеr.
I worked will patients who didn’t have ins. and not all are like you. I would say 60% of people with or without ins. do not pay there balance. I am sure they were showing their concern more than they should have. I am sure after they see that your going to pay they will show their appreciation for a patient like you.
They don’t want to deal with insurance, too much trouble. I’d be surprised if they cared.
don’t say you don’t have insurance, say you are paying cash or charging it.
I think it was just the practice you went to.
I don’t give a hoot whether someone has insurance or not, as long as they pay the bill. Money is money.
In fact I suggest to some patients with good teeth that rather than having dental insurance, they would be better putting that same money into a bank account in case of emergencies, and if they don’t use it, then at Xmas each year they might have some play money.
