What did the dentist inject into my mouth?
I wеnt іn wіth аn inflamed gum surrounding mу wisdom teeth аnd thе dentist injected thіѕ ‘anti inflammatory’ іntο mу gum crevice. It tastes grοѕѕ аnd whеn i took thе gauze out іt appeared tο bе filled somewhat wіth ѕοmе brownish fibres?! Sο wеіrd looking. Dοеѕ anyone know whаt thіѕ іѕ аnd hοw long іt’ll last? Thе taste јυѕt won’t gο!
He packed it with a medication usually used to treat a dry socket. You have an infected gum around the wisdom tooth and this is called a pericornitis. I never heard of this being used for this. I usually prescribe an antibiotic and have the patient rinse the area with warm saline every 2 hours. This usually clears things up in 2-3 days. But in the long run, you will probably need your wisdom tooth removed. Good luck.
I’m not sure what it is but its probably like those injects to numb so it should go away after a few hours or even a day.
