Let’s pretend that I already have the qualifications required to study dentistry. Now, once I am "excepted" to study dentistry, how long does it take to learn and how once I have "graduated," what kind of training do I have to do afterward and how long does that take before one becomes a fully qualified dentist?

Americans are so ignorant. Do they really believe that stereotypical bull c**p about British people’s teeth?
My daughter is 16 months and has a mouth full of teeth. When should I take her to her first dentist appointment?
Is gaining the required grades to become a dentist or physiotherapist more difficult than actually studying to become one of those things?
I mean, in The UK, you need GCSEs and A Levels to be able to study dentistry or physiotherapy. I was wondering, is it more difficult to gain the required grades to study those things than it is to actually study and pass dentistry or physiotherapy?
More detail, please, chris m. Are you speaking from experience?

I am planning to be a dentist but I don’t know how long it takes (either in USA or Australia) and what is the education required. Is there a direct entry or I should take a Bachelor’s degree in other subject first? What are the average tuition fees? And since dental school only have small number of places, what kind of students usually get picked? Do international students have smaller chance?
Oh, and how outstanding should I be to enter dentistry school? Are there any dentistry universities that is rather easy to enter?

I have periodontal disease. I’ve never gone to a dentist because my family has never had dental insurance, along with the usual feelings of fear and embarrassment.
My gums have receded and I’ve tried to keep the disease from getting worse by brushing all the time and using Listerine. I called a periodontist’s office, but he’s booked until June. I’m scared to wait that long.
The lady told me to go to a dentist, but I know that my problem is more so for a periodontist and not a regular dentist. I know I will probably have to have root planning and scaling.
Will going to a dentist be even worth it? I’m scared to wait any longer, but I need to go to a periodontist, but all of them in my area seem to be booked up for at least a few months.
I know it’s not at the beginning. I guess it’s moderate to severe. My teeth don’t seem loose or anything like that, but I’m still scared out of my mind, especially since I can’t seem to get to a periodontist soon.
previous dentist. I can understand why a dentist might want to keep records for which he was responsible making, but does he have a right to keep records of other dentists which I provided to him at the time of my first visit?
I have a split tooth and wants to prepare myself for what it may cost me.
Also how do you find an NHS dentist in this country…that is an NHS dentist that is willing to take on new patients.
People choose it for high pay and low stress.
What about lawyer?
I like high pay and low stress. Still though, there’s other professions. Dentistry just seems a little too boring.
Are there any professions that are better than being dentist?
Since there are many common procedures that are performed by dentists, how would you know if the rate he is charging you is reasonable? How can you determine if he is ripping you off?
Most things that you get charged for can be located on the internet. But for the dentist, how do you know what an avg charge of certain procedures are?
I’m just worried that the dentist may be charging a high amount that is not reasonable.
Anyone know?
I need to know if there will be alot of pain after my bad tooth gets taken out by the dentist. I know that the dentist will give me anesthesia during the procedure, but what happens after the anesthesia wears off after the procedure has been done? What can I do to stop the pain?
Im going to a community college in Dallas Texas at the moment and i would like to know what do i need to do to become a Dental Hygenist or Dentist. I’m taking my dad to the dentist and I want to know how long it will take. This is his first trip to the dentist in 8 years so he’s going to have a cleaning, and xrays and they are going to do a filling to. Anyone know how long this will take and whether or not I will have time to go shopping while he’s there?
i need to go shopping for a birthday present since today is my only day off. the mall is located across the street from the dentist’s office.
My Dental insurance company require me to pay certain amount for each procedure. I have to go for a tooth filling sometime this week and my charge list shows various charges depending on number of surfaces. For example for Resin-Based Composite – One Surface, Anterior i have to pay 17$, for Two Surfaces, Anterior i have to pay 23$ and so on…
So as a patient how do i determine myself that for how many surfaces dentist should charge me?
I’ve begun getting extreme closed-in feelings when my current dentist is working on me, and he gets snippy with me and doesn’t have any patience for my problem. I need to find a patient dentist and one that is also on my ERS list of dentists. I have claustrophobia.
I had a crown made, paid for it and decided I wanted another dentist to install it. Can another dentist do it skillfully? Or would only the dentist who made the impression be able to skilfully do it?
I have a cavity and the dentist put in a temporary filling and now I am going to get the real filling put in it.How long is this procudure going to take?Everytime I go to the dentist it has been for root canals or to get teeth pulled and it is always a major production.I have never been in there for just one filling. Will this take 20 min or is it a longer procedure? I need to get my 4 quadrants scaled now what is the average price a dentist charges for this type of work?
How do I report an unethical, scamming dentist? Is there any governing body or watchdog association?
A dentist performed unnecessary work on me and misrepresented additional work that needed to be done. When I got a second, and third, opinion, these other dentists negated what the unethical dentist had put me through. The ADA won’t accept any consumer complaints. Any suggestions to ensure others are protected against this unfortunate "dentist"?
I went to the dentist and told them about my canker sore before they started the cleaning. They put something on my canker sore that hurt like hell but after the sting, it never hurt again and was healed in a few days. I want to know what they put on my canker sore.
