Is there an employer sponsored health insurance plan for individuals?
I аm currently under a foreign policy frοm mу homecountry аnd I need tο sign up fοr health insurance іn thе US. Mу employer іѕ willing tο sponser mе. Hοwеνеr, I аm nοt eligible fοr a group рlаn bесаυѕе mу οnlу οthеr coworker іѕ insured thru hіѕ wife. Iѕ thеrе аn individual policy out thеrе thаt allows mе tο hаνе thе premium taken out οf mу paycheck pre-tax? Alѕο, аnу hints οn hοw gеt a gοοd deal οn health insurance without getting hundreds οf calls frοm agents? I already turned mу phone οff.
There are ways around it.
Depending on what state you’re in, and the nature of your business, you may be able to get group coverage for just you. The easiest way is to pick an independent agent have a sit down and work with him/her.
Without the hundred phone calls? You’re looking at spending time online, hunting through the carrier websites for contact information and calling up the companies to get a quote. That’s really the only way to do it.
The pre-tax deduction is most commonly referred to as a Section 125 POP, many carriers offer them alongside an insurance plan. You must set up the Section 125 in order to take advantage of the tax savings, however, otherwise you’re SOL.
If you’re in California, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to walk you through how to make this happen.
No, there isn’t. The only employer sponsored health insurance would be through YOUR employer.
In order to have premium taken out of your paycheck, your employer has to sponsor a plan.
Your employer has no group health insurance. You’re on your own.
Talk to a local, independent agent, and ask for quotes. If you’re 30 and healthy, it WILL be $300 a month. IF someone will write you.
