There are many different discount health cards on the market and none of them can compare with a true comprehensive major medical health insurance plan.
Discount cards work by giving members a discount on certain services. Some Doctors and Hospitals honor the discount and some do not.
Discount cards are not health insurance and can pose serious problems for people that get stuck with a large medical bill (i.e. a 35% discount off of a $100,000 medical bill is still a lot of money).
Id you do a Google or Yahoo search for "discount health plan warning" then you will see plenty of government warnings about these types of plans.
If you want to get an affordable health plan and still protect yourself in case of a large medical bill then choose a well known and reputable company like a United Healthcare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, etc. and be sure and compare quotes from at least 3 different companies.
