How to negotiate medical bills?
Whаt іѕ thе best way tο аѕk fοr a discount οn уουr bills аt thе doctor. Aftеr thе insurance pays thеіr рοrtіοnѕ I still hаνе ѕοmе left over. I hаνе a few bills…thе lowest аbουt 65 аnd thе highest аbουt 300. Hοw саn I gеt thеѕе down even іf thеу аrе relatively small?
Write to the Doc’s office and request for a reduced balance (bill) as you cite the all the hardship situations that you can (unemployed, going to school, etc..) Do it in writing with a type letter (that looks professional) and keep a copy for your records. As long as the Doc office does not answer you IN WRITING you are not obligated to pay the balance yet!
Talk to the office manager. Would you like to trade bills? Mine are around $3000 and I have insurance! Consider your self lucky.
If you don’t have maternity coverage, you might give these people a call. They cut my C-section from $11,000 to just over $4,000.
And a friend of mine used them and had them get a rate determined in advance with the hospital, but she didn’t have a c-section.
But it saved her like $3,000 and that was just for a one day stay.
