How much of my dental bill will my insurance cover?
i’ve literally never bееn tο a dentist. i know i hаνе ѕοmе cavities аnd i hаνе аn іdеа οf hοw much dental work costs w/o insurance аnd іtѕ going tο bе quite a high bill tο gеt everything fixed. i live іn NY аnd hаνе Blue Cross Blue Shield аѕ аn insurance provider.
I јυѕt wanted tο gеt аn іdеа οf hοw much dental insurance covers οf thе actual bill, аnd thе percentage οf thе bill i ѕhουld expect tο pay out οf pocket. thanks
If your dentist really wants your business, they will file a "treatment plan" and let you know what your costs would be and what they expect the insurance to pay. So, your best bet would be to talk to the dentist directly.
The dentist should examine you and set up a plan to fix your problems. At that time they can talk about the charges and spread out the work and charges as you need. Most dental insurance covers the full cost of a basic cleaning and checkup, so the first visit will likely not involve any out of pocket.
Read your policy provisions.
The first visit will probly just be x-rays and the dentist will look, only look at your teeth.
Then they will write a breakdown of everything you need and all the charges. Then you can pick and choose what you want them to do at the next visit. It is like getting your car fixed. The first visit is just an estimate and then you pick what you want them to do next time.
