How much can you talk down on old medical bills when in debt?
I hаνе a couple οld medical bills аnd very low οn cash. іf one іѕ 5 аnd thе οthеr іѕ 0 hοw much dο уου thіnk thеу wіll settle fοr. I've heard frοm one person thаt уου саn talk medical bills way down, thеn someone еlѕе ѕаіd thе opposite.. thаt thеу hardly gο down аt аll.
Simply…depends on the hospital and mostly the mood of the Bill Collector.
Depending on how people approach me and what I feel like that day, I may go for it. But if I suspect that Im being lied too or fed a BS story, I wont come down a penny. Not just that…I wont even delete it from their credit report. I will just update it as a "Collection" account that has bee paid in full.
By the way, to the guy above…
EVERYTHING IS NEGOTIABLE in this industry.
Be nice to them Bill Collectors.
This indeed is a difficult proposition. Unfortunately, I don't think that your debt is great enough for them to reduce the total, but you MIGHT be able to arrange a payment plan that would be mutually agreeable. Your best bet is to contact the Hospital's billing office directly and state your case and be honest with them. Good luck, I've been there once myself.
The bigger the medical bill the easier it is to talk down (negotiate) a settlement.
Your medical bills are so small that your BETTER OFF Paying the entire bills because that will look better on credit report.
By the way to the guy above ALL YOU ARE IS A TELEPHONE BULLY ! ! !
call the hospital sometimes they offer charitable donations.
it worked for me.
i had a 7500$ debt talked down to 850$
