How in the world can that happen?! Mind-boggling?
The healthcare reform can provide the following changes:
(1) Because private insurance companies currently have overpriced the premiums, without the check-and-balance of fair competition. By adding more competition, these insurance premiums will have to go down.
(2) By letting the majority of the population to have insurance coverage, the risk that private insurance companies have to take is greatly lowered, even if they have to cover some unhealthy people’s pre-existing conditions.
Health care costs are going no where but up with or without pre-existing conditions. Pre-existing conditions are only used to discriminate against people.*
Uhhh… you misunderstand.. there will be NO private health insurers left if this monstrosity of a bill is passed. Why would any business ever offer health insurance as a benefit if the government will provide it for free? Kiss Blue Cross goodbye…..
And you’re right — why in God’s name would anyone in their right frame of mind cover a preexisting condition?? Why even bother to have health care at all? Simply wait until you’re sick, buy a policy, get treatment, then drop it.

Most group policies cover preexisting conditions as long as there is no lapse in coverage. I speak from experience on this. But, I’ve never had a lapse in insurance. I know of many people who have chosen not to purchase health insurance to support a better lifestyle, for example, season tickets to the professional ball team. But, when they suddenly find themselves with a serious health problem, THEN, they want to buy insurance. That’s like buying car insurance after you have the accident. People need to be more responsible for their actions. And, the State or Feds need to stop spending our tax dollars for these idiots!
No matter how monstrous this bill is, it is still only the first step toward Obama’s favorite – single payer system. Pass this one, and single payer is just a few years away. Kiss your insurance choice goodbye. Then where are Canadians going to go for healthcare when they are denied services? Switzerland?
Apparently KATTY,as others (including yourself) are employed by “MySimpleCard.com” or an insurer as it is her “standard answer”. Her answer of "good luck" is just how the giant insurers that deny coverage of pre-existing conditions view some people’s situation as well as others that simply don’t have the $$ for private insurance coverage. With the government option, these insurers will be scrambling for your business to stay alive and may lay-off KATTY or YOU, to save money and boost their profits, thereby putting you and her in the same situation that we are. Your assumption that everybody makes enough $$ in their job to even have any savings to afford any kind of insurance is very elitist and absurd. Pre-existing conditions are not necessarily those of our making, but unfortunate conditions that MANY can’t afford the basic medications to stay alive. Do you even dare to suggest that a child or adult that has a pre-existing condition such as Diabetes or MS should be MADE to DIE for simple lack of insurability? She suggests that everyone read 1984 by George Orwell, which was mandatory in my education. What she and you don’t realize is that we are already there, with cameras on every street corner, the ability of the govt. to track cell phones, HDTV that can be shut down or used by the govt at their whim to disable dissemination of knowledge. She doesn’t recognize these things, but she denies people should have the same benefits of insurance coverage that Congress and the President has, at the taxpayers expenses, by invoking the premise of 1984 and possibly for fear of losing her job. If YOU and KATTY REALLY believe 1984 hasn’t arrived yet, I suggest that you go back and re-read it because you have definitely forgotten the premise of it and choose only now to invoke it against public competition against GIANT insurers instead of when the govt was taking away your freedoms many years ago. You and KATTY need to wake up and realize that there are MILLIONS that may not be as fortunate as you… "But for the sake of God, there go I".
