Is it difficult to get onto a group health insurance plan after being on medicaid for a year? I qualify for medicaid. Once I’m done with my education in a year from now I will want to get onto the employers group health insurance plan. Does being on medicaid in the past affect your ability to get onto an employer’s group health in the future?

I am currently under a foreign policy from my homecountry and I need to sign up for health insurance in the US. My employer is willing to sponser me. However, I am not eligible for a group plan because my only other coworker is insured thru his wife. Is there an individual policy out there that allows me to have the premium taken out of my paycheck pre-tax? Also, any hints on how get a good deal on health insurance without getting hundreds of calls from agents? I already turned my phone off.

I am 22 and applying for my first health insurance. I do not need much medical services, and want a low affordable premium. However, when I look at sites such as Blue Cross, it seems that low premiums go with high deductibles. I don’t think I would ever meet the yearly deductible, and thus, cannot get any health services covered. So what is the point of such a plan? Thanks.

I hear people talk about how the gvernment health insurance plan will "force" them to only see certain doctors, which is impossible bacause you first have to voluntarially sign up for the plan. Even then, just like EVERY other country with government health care, you can always opt out in favor of private health care.

So how is it forcing anyone to change their health care?

Even if she ties premiums to a percentage of income, would lower income workers be able to afford the upfront costs and wait until you file your taxes to be refunded?

Personally, I dislike it very much. My thoughts are it wont be good for society. To me its like playing life boat who gets to live by receving health care and who doesnt make it. What are your personal thoughs AND have you read the proposed health care plan in its entirety?

A lot of people want to point to Canada’s health system as a model for America to follow. But why do so many Canadian doctors abandon their country to practice medicine south of their border? Answer: Huge salary gap.

I think American doctors deserve every bit of their 6 figure income. Why? Medical school is not cheap. Will this universal plan lower salaries in America?

I already have my son on my policy from my job. My husband was trying to add my son to his family plan at the same time he added me right after we were married, but my husbands HR director wouldn’t let him. Is that common? Our lawyer did go through the courts to have my husband named as a guardian of my son. Is there any reason he would not be able to have him on his family health plan as well? I am just confused

An elderly person in my family is moving out of Florida and apparently the state she’s moving to doesn’t have same medical plan. She will probably be going into UNITED HEALTH CARE again because this is the one she had up to almost three years ago.

My question is, Can she change right now?

In line with Obama’s promise to increase transparency within the Government, he promised that the public would be able to review all proposals/plans "48-72 hours" ahead of time, before they were voted on. It is my understanding that some members of Congress have not yet seen the 1100 page health plan document.
