I have health insurance with my employer and it only covers 80% of the expenses. If I go to the doctor will they bill me for the 20% I have to pay out of pocket, or will I have to pay right then.

My friend is already in the hospital. He was in a car accident. He does not have insurance, but I am trying to provide some kind of coverage for him. Most health insurance companies will not cover someone who is already in the hospital. And he does not qualify for Medi-Cal. So are there any other options available out there, so that he can get the surgery he needs?

I know COBRA is available for many, but it is very expensive to keep up and runs only for a limited period. Questions like this have been asked before and those against governement supported health care just accused those who didn’t have health insurance as lazy losers. But with the economy crashing, the scenario has changed. If you aren’t employed anymore and have no income and little savings, what are you doing for health insurance?

Let’s say there’s a family, and there’s three different prescriptions for different medications within the family. Let’s say the Dad is paying for health insurance. Do you just pay for health insurance once, when you register for it? Do you pay monthly? Does the price you pay go up when you add more medications? I’m confused.

A gal at work is having some problems canceling her health insurance with the company we work for. Our company is saying she CAN NOT cancel her health insurance policy with BCBS since its not open enrollment. The reason she wants to cancel is because she got coverage with a different company. My boyfriend neeeeds to quit smoking, he smokes like more than a pack a day! But! He doesnt have health insurance, and i have great health insurance through my job.
