brilliant people like you want to try to keep the dentist out of jobs, but the dentists will have the last laugh.
There are certain places where you over look when you brush & floss. There are 5 sides on each tooth & you have 32 of them. Are you sure you clean all the sides? Brush does not reach the pits & fisshers or the tooth & that where food gets trapped & decay starts. If you dont go 6 months once to the dentist, you will land up with getting a root canal treatment other than a simle filling. I have a lot of your type of cases coming to me for root canals because they think its useless to get checked up 6 months once.
If you are rich twice a year. If you are like everyone else once a year.
For best dental health every 6 months; but who can afford that? Make sure you brush at least twice a day and floss once a day.
It is reccommended to have your teeth cleaned by a professional twice a year. Even the best brushers and flossers can’t clean under the gum tissue the way they can.
i visit the dentist twice a year in janurary then in June the only thing i hate about the dentist is that stuff thats suppose to taste like bubble gum but it taste like crap and you have to keep in for a minute and has a very bad aftertaste!
Its not a gimmick and brushing isn’t enough. The cleanings help remove tartar and plaque from your teeth which if not taken care of lead to severe gum and teeth problems.Believe me I know, and that is why I answer many dental questions. You must also floss every day. I now go three times a year.
It’s recommended to go twice a year but that’s for the general public… there are always exceptions. If you have gum disease (gingivitis etc) they recommend you go every 3 months. If you have immaculate teeth, have never had a cavity, always take great care of your teeth, you could probably get away with once a year. If you really care about your teeth that much though, you’ll probably want to go to the dentist twice a year. It’s not cleanings that keeps the dentist in business either… would you rather collect $100 and prevent caries or have patients come in needing a root canal paying $1000 for the root canal and another $1000 for a crown to cover the tooth that’s now diseased because they let it go for a year with disease?
