Well, "affordable" dental coverage, isn’t going to save you money.
Private dental coverage is extremely limited in what it covers, and if you add up all your premiums, and calculate what you’re having done and how much is covered, you usually end up paying slightly more than if you paid everything out of pocket.
Dental insurance is a waste of money generally. I would only get it if my employer was paying for it. Otherwise its better to self-insure and just pay for things as they come. The carrier wont pay for any major claims for the first 18months I believe unless you have dental insurance currently. I forget the exact time limit but there is one.
